Carl as a widowed elderly man wakes up, gets dressed, goes downstairs on his elevating chair, and goes outside to his front porch, all whilst his home is now in a construction zone.

As Carl hangs for dear life onto his house by the dangling hose to prevent it from drifting away without him after he and Russell were knocked off upon reaching the ground, the mist clears revealing the place Carl had been looking for in the distance.
